Continuing
a tradition started in 1922 when Emil Kobel bought a small piece of property
on a dirt road in what is now Clarendon
Hills and turned a two-story frame building into a restaurant, the Country
House in Geneva is the newest addition to what is now a trio of suburban
favorites that serve up casual dining in a rustic atmosphere. Located at the
corner of Kirk Road and Fabyan Parkway, the new Country House is
designed much like the original, but on a larger scale. There is also
a very spacious cedar deck that overlooks a beautifully landscaped pond.
Our
menu features hickory- smoked ribs,
char-broiled steaks, fresh salads, pastas and daily specials, as well as
our famous "Country Burger" a hearty half pound served on dark rye
-- voted "Chicago's Favorite Burger" by the readers of The Chicago
Tribune. So whether you are joining us for a casual business lunch, a
relaxed evening dinner or just to share a beverage and hors d' oeuvres with
some friends, know that the Country House Geneva maintains the same relaxed
atmosphere in a friendly neighborhood setting as the original, "true to Kobel's original concept of a neighborhood roadhouse", where the focus is
still on casual dining with casual pricing.
